June Reading
June 20, 2020
So a couple of months ago I started re-reading C.J. Cherryh’s Foreigner series. I really love these books, I’d read the first 9 or so before but started over and have just reached the latest Resurgence, but I’ll have a bit of a gap between finishing that one and Divergence in September. I enjoy the characters, and the cozy domestic bits. I need more Sci-Fi with food depictions. I’m still reading Delicious in Dungeon by Ryoko Kui, and just started watching Drifting Dragons on Netflix, but I’d like something to scratch the same itch in a Sci-Fi way, a bunch of smugglers running rare ingredients to the best chefs, or something like it. Alan Dean Foster had the Taken Trilogy where the the main character escapes having been kidnapped for a zoo exhibit and becomes a chef, and to this day I still think about what anti-gravity could do for cooking.
